I missed an interview today, just totally missed it. Well not completely, I was prepared at the time of the interview, but forgot to dial into the conference line. So, when I decided to follow up with the recruiter, I noticed that the appointment had an 800 number right there in the body of the interview confirmation email. Hmm, whaddaya know, totally missed that. Keep in mind I was with attitude that the hiring manager was late calling into the interview, and immediately started to ramble on about inappropriate conduct during interviews and expectations. Only to realize the fault was on me. Funny thing is, this is not the job I really wanted, it was a good skill set booster but not heart fluttering at all, plus I don’t think that they were going to pay that much, it was entry level and I was more than qualified for it.

So, I think sub-consciously I may have missed that dial in for that reason. I did try to reach out to the interview scheduler and to the recruiter to at least apologize and requested an interview anyway, it may not happen and it may be for the best, this was really my last foray in the job hunt before I decided to ride the ship to joblessness out into the abyss. I know I said that I was tapping out some time early last month, but I decided to keep my reel in the pond a little while longer, however, I’m really taking a break now, it’s been several months and so far I’ve gotten only 2 mediocre job offers. Well the last one, I would have loved, but non-profit companies don’t pay that well and I really got to have those benefits. I figured if I had enough money in my savings I would have taken it and just made it work. Oh well, Akuna Mata.
