Relationships and Work
So, I have a confession to make. I have a boyfriend, whoa, finally got that out. What makes this confession all the more uncomfortable, is the fact that I work at the same company as my beloved.
Now, prior to the global pandemic, he and I would do lunches (if meetings permitted) and small coffee breaks to catch on to each other’s mid-day. It worked for a while, and then COVID-19 happened and we all went all remote-work and stuff. I don’t miss the office, but I do kind of miss our random midday catch-ups. Remote work has taken on a different meaning. For him, his workload has increased, while mine has pretty much stayed the same, meaning I’m not that busy. But staying at home has made our office chatter pretty stale and as much as I don’t want to admit it, being in the office may help boost our work week conversations. Well correction, HIM being at the office may help boost our work-week conversations.
Work for me has been pretty steady, considering all that has happened over the past year. My relationship on the other hand has been impacted by the pandemic. It’s been a rough year and it’s hard to pinpoint if it’s been COVID related or not. One thing is for sure, both the pandemic and this rough patch will pass, what the aftermath looks like nobody really knows.
XoXo,
